Let me remind you of your own, mysterious dream-environments
Where are you in your most cherished dreams?
This could be when you're sleeping, daydreaming oR when having a captivating fever-dream.

I study these mysterious moments that I experience almost every night. I've dreamed a lot in my whole life, so I decided to capture these into vivid, but calm artpieces. My paintings are all (combined) fragments of my dreams.
Themes
Places from my early childhood, places I've never been before...
Sometimes these places are recognizeable, other times they feel more surreal. Every painting captures a new dreamscape experience. The flowy touch of Iris' her artworks, makes them come all together. The pieces are made of mixed paints, epoxy and gold.
I hope that my dreams will inspire you to drift away into your own fantasy. Or experience the calmness that makes you feel more present. I love that it makes me feel so mindfull when making the art and the reward I get when I finally see my thoughts on the canvas. The proces is almost like a meditation, it always soothes my soul.
I'm hoping that you can experience that too for yourself.

Iris Hoftijzer (30) is an artist who is originally selfthought, but started an artstudy later in her late twenties at the Willem de Kooning academy. She grew up on the countryside, but decided to move the city of Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
Working as a tattoo artist in daily life, which is a beautiful but serious bussiness where she have to colour between the lines.
It's a relief that she doesn't have to stay inside the lines when making art. She finds freedom in letting go of the results.
Always intruiged by the mystical and unknown, she makes art that is recognized by the dreamers, lovers and poets. Always looking for something aesthetical in a an abstract or minimal way.
Simplicity, but with the biggest care, is key.
